FBI assisting investigations into Mumbai attacks:US Attorny
Washington, Dec 4 (PTI) Terming the Mumbai terror
attacks as "horrendous" , which killed nearly 200 people
including 6 Americans, the US Attorney General Michael Mukasey
has said that the FBI is working with Indian investigative
agencies and assisting them to collect the evidence about the
terrorists.
"Investigation is on the ground to assist Indian
authorities. The FBI is looking into whatever evidence they
can get," Mukasey said in his first comments on the terror
attacks, adding the act was "horrendous".
"I believe we have jurisdiction," Mukasey said but
declined to comment on the likelihood of eventual indictments
in the United States.
Mukasey said he did not have enough details to say
whether any charges eventually would be brought in the United
States.
He, however, said the episode has given an "object
lesson" on the need for continued vigilance including keeping
an eye on suspected terror outfits. PTI SK
