Cyprus grants Yemen $ 50,000 for facing floods' effects

SANA'A, Dec. 03 (Saba)- Cyprus non-resident ambassador to Yemen
announced in his meeting held on Wednesday with Minister of Planning
and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi his country's
contribution with $ 50,000 to Yemen for facing floods' damages
swept Yemeni eastern areas last October.

The two parts discussed issues relating to expanding cooperation
fields between Yemen and Cyprus to included health field, in
addition to enhancing cooperation between the two countries and
effects of international financial on the economies of developing
countries.

On the other hand, al-Arhabi discussed on Wednesday with Japanese
ambassador in Yemen Masakazu Toshikage a number of issues dealing
with mutual cooperation between Yemen and Japan.

In the meeting, the ambassador announced that his country's
government has decided to exchange developmental donations to Yemen
from level of initial needs to projects of infrastructure within
Tokyo's keenness on developing existing and future cooperation with
Yemen.

The two officials also discussed preparations concerning holding the
consultative expanded meeting between the governments of the two
countries during 2009.

Minister al-Arhabi highlighted keenness of the Japanese government
for supporting Yemen's development, affirming his country's similar
keenness on enforcing cooperation relations between Yemen and Japan.
