GOVT SETS 2010 OIL PRODUCTION TARGET AT 1.1 MILLION BPD
Jakarta, Dec 3 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian government has set the target of the country's crude oil and condesate output for 2010 at 1.1 million barrels per day (bpd).
Director General of Oil and Gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Evita Legowo said here on Wednesday the government would make every posssible effort to achieve the target.
The government would rely on a number of fields, including the Cepu Block and those owned by state oil and gas company Pertamina, to achieve the production target, she said.
It would be difficult for the country to achieve the oil and condesate production of 1 million bpd next year, she said.
Both the government and the House of Representatives (DPR) had agreed on the oil production target for 2009 at 960,000 bpd.
Earlier, the Upstream Oil and Natural Gas Executive Body (BP Migas) has projected the country's oil and condesate production to reach 911,000 bpd in 2010.
BP Migas data show oil production will increase to 912,000 bpd in 2011 and hit a record high of 1.001 million bpd in 2012.
The figure is expected to fall to 991,000 bpd in 2013, to 931,000 bpd in 2014 and further to 840,000 bpd in 2015.
But if no effort is to be made, oil production will reach 644,581 bpd in 2009, 567,231 bpd in 2010, 499,164 bpd in 2011, 439,264 bpd in 2012, 386,552 bpd in 2013, 340,166 bpd in 2014 and 299,346 bpd in 2015. ***2***
