Daewoo International to finalize gas sale deal this year

SEOUL, Dec. 3 (Yonhap) -- Daewoo International Corp., a South Korean trading
company, said Wednesday it plans to clinch a final deal with a Chinese state-run
company within this year to sell natural gas to be produced at its offshore gas
fields in Myanmar.
In June, Daewoo International signed a preliminary deal with the China National
Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) to pipe natural gas into China.
Daewoo International entered Myanmar's market in the late 1980s and started
resource development projects in the country beginning in 2000.
