Seoul shares start higher on Wall Street rebound
SEOUL, Dec. 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks opened higher Wednesday as most blue chips got a boost from strong overnight gains on Wall Street, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 5.94 points, or 0.58
percent, to 1,029.14 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
U.S. shares closed sharply higher Tuesday with the Dow Jones industrial average
climbing 3.3 percent. The tech-dominated Nasdaq composite index rose 3.7 percent.
The local currency was trading at 1,459.5 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15 a.m.,
up 4.75 won from Tuesday's close.
