People fleeing `crumbling` NSW: Liberals

NSW's crumbling infrastructure and poor services mean it's no surprise people are fleeing the state in droves, Opposition Leader Barry O'Farrell says.

Mr O'Farrell said the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABC) figures released on
Tuesday showed 21,857 people left NSW in 2007-08, equivalent to 60 people a day.
"Sixty people a day are moving interstate where there are better services, better
infrastructure, less traffic and more jobs," he said.
"With NSW an economic drag on the national economy, many people are being forced to
move interstate to gain employment.
"It's also more affordable to live elsewhere."
Mr O'Farrell said NSW residents were also among the highest taxed in the country.
