Third soldier wounded in Afghan blast

A third special services soldier in Afghanistan suffered injuries as a result of the bomb blast that killed Lieutenant Michael Fussell last week. Lt Fussell was conducting a dismounted patrol when he and his team were struck by an improvised explosive device last Thursday.
Two others were also injured in the attack.

On Tuesday, another victim emerged when Defence said a third soldier had later
reported to medical officers with minor wounds.
"The third soldier wounded in the operation later presented to the regimental
medical officer with minor wounds that were not reported at the time of the
incident," Defence said.
"The additional wounded soldier's family has been notified of the incident.
"The three wounded soldiers have received medical treatment and are continuing with
their operational duties."
The name of the wounded soldier is not available.
