University confers golden badge on Mahathir

Tehran, Dec 2, IRNA - Martyr Beheshti Medical Sciences University conferred a golden badge on the Malaysian former President Mahathir Mohamad.


Addressing the ceremony, chancellor of the university, Mohammad Sadeqi
described Mahathir Mohamad a self-built believer and promoter of unity
among Muslims.

Stating that Mahathir Mohamad is a physician, he further said that the
university is keen on cooperation with the Malaysian universities.

Martyr Beheshti University has made many scientific achievements in
various fields such as heart transplant and will increase its
scientific collaboration with Malaysia.

Meanwhile, Mahathir Mohamad said that he feels at home while he is in Iran.

Muslims made considerable scientific progress when the West was in
ignorance, he said, noting that they attained highest positions in
different sciences such as medicine.
