RESEARCHERS PRESENT RESULTS OF GOVERNMENT POLICY STUDIES
Jakarta, Dec 1 (ANTARA) - Eighteen Indonesian and Australian researchers under the Australia-Indonesia Governance Research Partnership presented on Monday the result of their research on government policies under the theme "Policy Research Forum: Ideas that Matter".
"The Indonesian and Australian top academicians are working closer together to cope with governance policy priorities," Australian Amabassador to Indonesia Bill Farmer said in his opening remarks.
"The program gathers the best thinkers of both countries. The research project this year is hoped to produce suggestions to develop the policy and offer new thoughts on governance in Indonesia," said Farmer.
The forum is conducted by the Australia-Indonesia Partnership in Jakarta and an annual program of the Australia-Indonesia Governance Research Partnership (AIGRP).
Research on coffee plantations, Islamic microfinance and oil palm plantations are some of the topics of the researchers.
There are nine projects under three main issues presented to the forum.
The three main issues are climate change and natural resources, enhancing public services and pro-poor policy.
The researchers included Bustanul Arifin of Lampung University, Danang Parikesit of the Gajah Mada University and Hetifah Sjaifudian of the Bandung Trust Advisory Group for Local Governance Reform.
