New Indian Home Minister Chidambaram assumes charge
New Delhi, Dec 1 (PTI) P Chidamabaram Monday assumed charge as India's new Home Minister in place of Shivraj Patil who resigned in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks.
Chidambarm, 63, dressed in his trademark dhoti, shirt
and a shawl, was received by Home Secretary Madhukar Gupta at
the North Block office.
The Minister was briefed by senior officials of the
