50 Yemeni pilgrims prevented from entering kingdom
SANA'A,, Nov. 30 (Saba) – Almost 250 Yemeni pilgrims have been
prevented from entering Saudi lands to perform Hajj rituals, after
an alleged measure that pilgrims are not allowed to enter the
kingdom after Thul Qaada 30.
The newsyemen.net reported that Saudi authorities at the Altewal
crossing say they received a note that they should not allow any
pilgrims enter the kingdom after Thul Qaada 30.
They say the measure is common and apply to all pilgrims from
various countries.
Journalist Elham al-Wajeh said the pilgrims have been staying at the
crossing for two days, adding that the Saudi authorities at the
crossing closed land passages before the pilgrims.
She, however, wondered how these pilgrims were granted visas without
being informed about the new measures, affirming that Yemeni
employees in Saudi Arabia enter the kingdom without deter.
Khalid al-Thahbani, one of the pilgrims, said they are staying at
the crossing without shelter, adding the pilgrims sleep on roadsides
and some of them sleep on the minibuses which carried them till the
crossing.
