Former Malaysia PM urges expansion of ties with Iran
Tehran, Dec 1, IRNA Former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohammad in Tehran on Monday
called for further expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a meeting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, he said the Western
economic sanctions on Iran have been to the interest of the Iranian
nation.
Mahathir and Ahmadinejad discussed the ongoing economic crisis.
Referring to the two countries' joint projects and investments,
President Ahmadinejad said Iran-Malaysia extensive cooperation proved
that leaders of the two countries are determined to further strengthen
ties.
He further called for materialization of the joint projects signed by
the two sides so far.
The two officials also discussed Iran-Malaysia joint oil and gas projects.
