Choi Kyoung-ju tops U.S. Skins Game

SEOUL, Dec. 1 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Choi Kyoung-ju won the biggest prize of
US$415,000 in the LG Skins Games that ended on Monday (Korean time) in Indian
Wells, California, organizers said.
Choi, 38, pulled off a 11-foot birdie putt on the final hole to secure more than
half of his prize, becoming the first South Korean ever to win the event, the PGA
Tour said on its Web site.
The competition designates a cash prize for each hole. If two golfers tie at a
hole, the money carries over to the next hole, while the overall winner is
decided based on the total amount he earns.
Choi started the day with a lead but lost three holes to his competitors. The
seven-time PGA Tour winner came back with an uphill birdie putt on the final
hole, edging past Stephen Ames, Phil Mickelson and Rocco Mediate to take away the
title.
Ames, who has won the last two titles, claimed $250,000, Mickelson $195,000 and
Mediate $140,000.
