Iran ambassador confers with Lebanese parliament speaker

Beirut, Nov 30, IRNA Iran's ambassador to Beirut conferred with Lebanese parliament speaker
and a prominent Lebanese Shia cleric on Saturday.

Mohammad Reza Sheybani, after the meetings, told IRNA that in his
meeting with Nabih Berri they considered ways to execute decisions
taken in the recent visit of President Michel Soleiman to Iran.

He continued, "The Lebanese speaker said strengthening ties and
cooperation between the two countries is beneficial for Lebanon more
than Iran and expressed Lebanon parliament's readiness to expand ties
with Iran."
Berri described the recent visit of President Soleiman to Iran
"important and valuable."
Sheybani also met with Lebanese prominent Shia cleric Muhammad Hussein
Fazlallah.

In the meeting, Fazlallah condemned the US and Israel policies in the
region and talked about sufferings of surrounded people of Gaza by the
Zionist regime.

He also called for prompt movement of Islamic countries to break the
cruel siege of Gaza.
