Telecommunication State Minister receives ITU Sec-Gen

Manama, Jun 3 (BNA) – Minister of State for Telecommunications Affairs, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, today received International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Sec-Gen, Dr Hamadoun Toure, on the sidelines of the World Forum for Telecommunication Regulators, which hosted by Bahrain and organized by ITU. Telecommunication State Minister discussed means of bolstering existing cooperation and highlighted Bahrain's keenness to benefit from the ITU's expertise in the interest of both sides. He reviewed Bahrain's achievements in the telecommunication field and facilitations provided for operating institutions and companies, noting Bahrain's developed communication and IT infrastructure. ITU Sec-Gen underscored readiness to promote cooperation to reach common goals, hailing the growing development witnessed by the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of communications. MJ
