Parliamentary delegation arrives in Islamabad

Islamabad, May 5 (BNA) – A parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of Council of Representatives, Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani, today arrived in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, on a 2-day visit to hold talks with Pakistani officials.
National Assembly Deputy Speaker, Murtaza Javed Abbasi, received the Bahraini delegation upon arrival and emphasized Pakistan's interest in this visit which follows HM the King's recent visit to Pakistan.
Al-Dhahrani said the visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations in trade, economic and political fields, in addition to establish joint coordination in various international forums.
He expressed Bahrain's interest in the Pakistani community in Bahrain and lauded Pakistan's supportive stances for Bahrain's security and stability.
Abbasi hailed the solid relations binding the two countries, noting the exchange of visits promotes joint cooperation.
The parliamentary delegation will meet Pakistani President Memnon Hussein, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chairman of Senate Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, in addition to holding meetings with Bahraini-Pakistani Friendship Committee.
The delegation comprises a number of parliamentarians, including Ahmed Qurata, Ali Zayed, Sameer Al-Khadim, Mohammad Bu-Kais, and is accompanied by Council of Representatives' presidency Director Sameer Al-Fayez, Head of Presidential Protocol Yacoub Al-Khalidi and Head of Media Department, Mohammad Al-Ahmed.
