ANOTHER EX-BI DEPUTY GOVERNOR DETAINED
Jakarta, Nov 27 (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday detained former Bank Indonesia (BI) deputy governor Aslim Tadjudin for his alleged part in the illegal transfer of Rp100 billion from the central bank to other parties.
Aslim left the KPK office in a prison car at 04.39 p.m. He refused to make any comment to the press. According to informed sources, he was sent to the National Police Headquarters' detention center.
Also on Thursday, the commission interrogated three other former BI deputies governor, Aulia Pohan, Bun Bunan Hutapea and Maman H. Soemantri, on similar charges.
All the former BI senior officials have been named suspects in the case.
Former BI governor Burhanuddin Abdullah was sentenced to five years in jail recently in the the same case.
Abdullah was convicted for illegally disbursing Rp100 billion in funds from the central bank's Indonesian Banking Development Foundation (YPPI).
The disbursement of the money was decided at a meeting of the BI board of governors to expedite the amendment of the BI law and the settlement of a corruption scandal involving BI liquidity support (BLBI) funds.
