TWO EXECUTED BALI BOMBERS` BROTHER VISITS BATU PRISON
Cilacap, Indonesia, Nov 27 (ANTARA) - A blood brother of the two recently executed Bali bombers, Armrozi and Mukhlas, came to the Batu state penitentiary on Nusakambangan island on Thursday to collect their belongings.
The brother, Ali Fauzi, made the visit accompanied by a nephew, Sumarno, and Muslim Lawyers' Team (TPM) members Ustad Hasyim Abdullah, Abi Sambasi, Tendang Yudianta and Rosidin.
The group arrived at the Wijayapura pier, Cilacap, Central Java, at 10.10 am local time in two minibuses.
They boarded the Pengayoman II ferry to reach Nusakambangan Island, after reporting to the duty officer at the Wijayapura pier.
Ali Fauzi told reporters after his visit to Batu prison, he had come to collect his dead brothers' belongings at the request of the prison's warden, Sudjianto.
He said reports saying the Batu prison management had complicated the procedure for Amrozi's and Mukhlas' families to collect the things they had left behind were not true.
"It is not true that the prison has complicated the procedure," he said.
He said he had also read a letter in Mukhlas' handwriting dated November 8, 2008 which his late brother had left with the warden.
"It was a letter in Mukhlas' genuine handwriting, not a fake," he said.
In the letter, Mukhlas said his belongings should be handed over to his family. They consisted of a Koran, clothes, turbans, a digital watch and a few other articles.
Meanwhile, TPM member Ustad Hasyim Abdullah said the team was planning to put the belongings of the three executed Bali bombers (Amrozi, Mukhlas and Iman Samudra) in a museum.
But the plan was now still being discussed with the three dead men's families, he said.
