RI GOCART TEAM PARTICIPATES IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN ITALY
London, Nov 27 (ANTARA)- Four Indonesian gocart racers, including Alexandra Asmasoebrata, the only female racer in the country's team, will take part in the Rotax Max Grand Finals 2008 world championship competition in La Conca, Murro Lecce, Italy, from November 27 through 30.
Mrs. Mufidah Jusuf Kalla, the wife of Indonesia's vice president, received the Indonesian team at her residence in Jakarta before its departure for Italy, according to Yuwono A Putranto, an official at the Indonesian embassy in Rome, on Wednesday.
Alexandra would take part in the senior Rotax Max class where she would compete with 72 participants from 59 other countries.
Meanwhile, another official of the Indonesian embassy in Rome, Musurifun Lajawa, told Antara on Thursday, the embassy recently held a two-day promotion event titled "Ultimate in Diversity" attended by local print, radio and television journalists.
The promotion event was aimed at disseminating current information on developments in the political, security, economic, trade and cultural fields in Indonesia.
Guests at the event were also shown videos on various aspects of Indonesian arts, culture and tourism as well as the people's life after reform era.
Some 34 Italian journalists, who attended the promotion function, expressed appreciation about the presentations, Musurifun said.
A similar promotion was scheduled to be held on December 11 in Milan.
