BDF Commander-in-Chief to attend military drill in Saudi Arabia

Manama, Apr. 28. (BNA) – Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa will head to Saudi Arabia tomorrow at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince, Deputy Premier and Defence Minister Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He will attend the final ceremony of the military exercise, "Sword of Abdulla", conducted by units from the Saudi armed forces, National Guard and Interior Ministry. The BDF Commander-in-Chief expressed delight at attending the event, affirming that the visit will provide an opportunity to meet Saudi armed forces' leaders and discuss with them military issues aiming to strengthen the existing solid bilateral ties. He said that during the drill, the biggest of its kind in the region, the Saudi armed forces will showcase its honourable combat level. He will be accompanied with a military delegation comprising senior BDF officers. W H Q
