AZERBAIJAN DRAWS UP DRAFT DOCUMENT ON CARRYING OUT SECURITY MEASURES IN CASPIAN SEA

Baku, 27 November,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan has drawn up a draft document on carrying out security measures in the Caspian Sea, and submitted it to the Caspian littoral states, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said.

According to him, the draft document includes joint activities of Interior
Ministries, Border and Customs Services and ways of coordinating cooperation.
Mr. Khalafov noted the next round of talks on legal status of the Caspian Sea would
take place in Baku.
Khalaf Khalafov also stressed an agreement was already achieved on dividing the
northern seabed of the Caspian Sea, adding, “the only issue remaining unsolved is
the Sea`s southern part which must be agreed on among Iran, Azerbaijan and
Turkmenistan.”
“We hope to solve this issue either through bilateral or trilateral talks” the
Deputy FM added.
