HRH Crown Prince meets Russian Foreign Minister

Moscow, Apr 28 (BNA) -- His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov in Moscow. During the meeting HRH Crown Prince highlighted Russia’s integral role as a permanent UN Security Council member in resolving international disputes. In this regard, he emphasised the importance of securing peaceful resolutions to the varied challenges and conflicts that exist today. HRH Crown Prince noted the primary goal must always be to protect lives and maintain public order. He then stressed the importance of development focused on long-term stability and based around principles of consensus and dialogue. With these factors in mind, His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of bringing the Syrian conflict to an end. He argued for a sustainable political solution that prioritises the safety and interests of the Syrian people. HRH Crown Prince went on to underscore the importance of the strategic dialogue between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the Russian Federation that can continue broadening Russia’s relations with the region. In conclusion, His Royal Highness reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of trade and investment.
