Emirates Airlines' statement on Bangkok flights
Dubai, Nov 27, 2008 (WAM) - A spokesperson for the Emirates said yesterday the airlines' flights have been affected due to the closure of Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok.
Yesterday, EK385 Hong Kong-Bangkok-Dubai returned to Hong Kong and EK419 Sydney-Bangkok-Dubai was diverted to Kuala Lumpur. Both flights are now returning non-stop to Dubai and are expected to land in the evening.
EK 419, from Sydney to Dubai via Bangkok, instead flew directly to Dubai with a technical stop in Singapore.
EK384/385 Dubai-Bangkok-Hong Kong operating yesterday and today have been cancelled.
EK418 Dubai-Bangkok-Sydney operating today will overfly Bangkok. The return flights are planned to operate via Singapore.
Today, EK372/373 Dubai-Bangkok-Dubai is cancelled.
Emirates Airport Services is ensuring that passengers are well cared for. All passengers bound for Bangkok will be rebooked on the first available flight when the airport re-opens.
"The safety of our passengers and crew is of utmost importance," the spokesperson said.
"Emirates regrets the inconvenience caused."
