Royal order to construct world-standard sport centre

Manama, Apr22(BNA)His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today ordered the construction of a world-standard sport centre in Bahrain. This came as he received at Al-Safriya Palace Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman and head of the Bahrain Athletics Association Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, who competed in the 1st Dubai Desert Triathlon. HM the King gave orders to construct the state-of-the-art hub following the landmark victory of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, who won the race which was held under the auspices of Dubai Crown Prince and Sport Council Chairman Shaikh Hemdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. HM the King saw the engineering blueprints of the landmark world-standard facility, which would hopefully bolster Bahrain's standing and attract sportsmen from all over the world to compete in tournaments. HM the King congratulated Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa on the honourable achievement, saying that the landmark performance would bolster Bahrain's standing in regional and international sport arenas. He stressed the importance of competing in Dubai Desert race which reflected the reputation and edge of the Bahraini Triathlon Team. He commended the remarkable achievement and the spirit of fair play, hailing the team's resolve to honour Bahrain at all sport arenas and reflect the reputation of its youth. He also lauded Shaikh Nasser for his strong determination to win different competitions and honour Bahrain at different regional, Arab and international arenas. HM the King seized the occasion to the UAE for organizing 1st Dubai Desert Triathlon and ensuring its success, wishing Shaikh Nasser and the team members every success to continue the string of remarkable achievements. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa expressed thanks to HM the King for ordering the construction of the world-standard sport hub.
