Deputy Premier opens Bahrain IT Expo 2014

Manama, Apr. 22. (BNA) -- Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa opened at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC)'s Paddock Hall today the Bahrain IT Expo 2014, held on the sidelines of the Bahrain International e-Government Forum 2014, with the participation of over 80 exhibitors. The Deputy Premier inaugurated three new applications, including the Civil Service Bureau (CSB)' "Civil Service Employee Services", the Works Ministry's Photo service and Profile Manager application which provides all payment services through the e-Government portal. The expo will run in parallel with eight workshops which will focus on topics such as "eGovernment Success Stories and Global Trends, eContent Management, Social Media Toolkit, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in ICT Environment, Enterprise IT Governance for Control and Value Creation, Mobile Apps, Agile Business Analysis and Improvements, along with Leadership in Information Technology". The expo opens its doors for the public from 9am to 5pm. The eight parallel workshops will be running today and tomorrow in BIC (Oasis Building) from 8.30am to 4.30pm. Shaikh Mohammed opened here yesterday the Bahrain International e-Government Forum 2014. He launched the new and improved e-Government portal (http://www.bahrain.bh), featuring 25 re-engineered e-Government services and numerous features which enabled easy and fast access to information and services.
