Housing Minister invites Chinese construction firms to Bahrain

Beijing: April 22 – (BNA): Minister of Housing engineer Bassim bin Yaqoub Al-Hammer met representatives of several Chinese firms on the second day of his current visit to Beijing. The meeting took place at the premises of the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA). The Minister informed them about major current and future housing projects, including 40,000 residential units in consideration for an estimated 2.6 billion Bahraini dinars under the Five Year Plan2012-2016. The Minister informed them about the Ministry's plans to implement major housing projects in new cities and residential blocks all over the Kingdom's governorates. He also informed them about Bahrain's technical specifications and standards and explored with them cooperation on implementing housing projects in Bahrain. (IY)
