Commander-in-Chief meets British military delegation

Manama, Apr. 21. (BNA)-- Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met here today the British Minister of State for the Armed Forces Mark Francois and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Bahrain. The Commander in Chief welcomed the Minister and the accompanying delegation, and praised the solid deep-rooted bilateral friendly ties and the advanced level of joint cooperation in various fields, especially regarding the exchange of military expertise. He affirmed the keenness on further expanding the steadily-growing bilateral military cooperation and coordination so as to enhance joint action. The Minister was briefed about the BDF's establishment stages, various military units and how it has developed during the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander. General Doctor Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, BDF's Chief-of-Staff Major-General Shaikh Duaij bin Salman Al Khalifa, the British Ambassador to Bahrain Iain Lindsay , Defence Senior Adviser for the Middle East (DSAME) Simon Mayall, Director of the BDF General Headquarters' Court Major-General Yusuf Ahmed Al-Jalahma, Inspector-General Major-General Abdullah Hassan Al Nuaimi, Director of Planning, Organisation and Technology Rear Admiral Yusuf Ahmed Mal-Allah, Director of Military Cooperation Brigadier-General Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and British Military Attaché at the UK Embassy in Bahrain Commodore Christopher Murray were present.
