2ND MINISTERIAL CONFERENCE ON WOMEN'S ROLE IN DEVELOPMENT OF OIC MEMBER STATES HELD IN CAIRO
Baku, 26 November,(AzerTAj)The Second Ministerial Conference on Women's Role in the Development of OIC Member States was held in Cairo, Egypt on 24 – 25 November.
Azerbaijan was represented at the event by Chairperson of the State Commission for
Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova.
Addressing the conference on the theme “Promoting gender equality in Azerbaijan”,
she expressed confidence that the country`s ongoing economic growth will help women
improve their professional skills and be promoted to executive positions.
Ms. Huseynova stressed that a range of new projects are to be launched in the
framework of the State Program for drawing up sustainable development strategy to
ensure gender equality in Azerbaijan.
