President confirms condemnation of Yemen for piracy
SANA'A, Nov. 26 (Saba)- President Ali Abdullah Saleh confirmed on
Wednesday condemnation of Yemen for all kinds of piracy on Arab or
international ships.
In a graduation ceremony of 19th and 20th batches of master degree
in field of police sciences and other training courses organized by
Police Academy, president Saleh called on international community to
form international forces in cooperation with countries lookout on
Red Sea and Arabian Peninsula to combat the piracy.
He also indicated to the recent success in combating terror in the
country, saying that piracy in Aden Gulf and Arabian Sear is a new
challenge now.
Navy forces along with coastguard should combat this act, president
said.
He considered the piracy as terror act, calling Interior Ministry
and Defense Ministry a well as Coastguard to do their duty in well
manner to secure the navigation in Red Sea and Arabian Sea.
He expressed his sorrow over the Somali piracy acts, reminding
Yemeni humanitarian position toward Somali people.
President Saleh congratulated graduates, pointing out to the notable
progress recently in the performance of the security body.
For his part, the interior minister Mutahar Rashad al-Masri reviewed
efforts of the ministry in developing Security Corporation within
sponsorship of president Saleh, higher commander of the armed forces.
He affirmed continuing works of the ministry to develop the
corporation to realize further success in the security performance,
highlighting recent achievements of the security forces in combating
terror act in cooperation with the armed forces.
