Six Rioters face legal action

Manama, Apr14(BNA) Northern Police director-general announced that legal action had been taken against six people involved in acts of sabotage and rioting in Daih village. In a statement today, he said that the suspects, who are minors, appeared before the Public Prosecution, which referred them to the Juvenile Care Centre. He dismissed a press report published in a local newspaper and attributed to Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society as untrue and lacking evidence. The association claimed in its statement to the press that "dozens of children are being held in prisons in Bahrain", failing however to provide any evidence corroborating the allegations. Northern Governorate Police director-general urged complainants to file their cases, if any, with the Public Prosecution, the Ombudsman General Secretariat or police stations. A H N
