PRESIDENT AND ENTOURAGE RETURN HOME FROM PERU
Jakarta, Nov 26 (ANTARA)- President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and entourage arrived in Jakarta on Wednesday at 3.30 a.m. local time after making a two-week trip to Washington, Mexico, Brazil and Peru.
The presidential aircraft, A330-341 airbus, made a smooth landing at Halim Perdana Kusuma air force base on early Wednesday after some a 30 hour-flight from Lima, Peru with stop overs in Seattle, the United States, and Nagoya, Japan.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla and wife Mufidah Kalla, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare Aburizal Bakrie, Coordinating Minister for Security Affairs Widodo AS, greeted Yudhoyono at the airport, from where he would proceed to the presidential residence at Puri Cikeas, in Bogor district.
The president's entourage including Trade Minister Mari Pangestu, Agriculture Minister Anton Apriyantono, and Minister/State Secretary Hatta Rajasa.
The president, before landing at Halim Perdana Kusuma airport, expressed his hope that the entourage could take good lessons from the overseas visits and make use of the lessons for the national interest.
"Great potentials are also available at home which can be managed for the people's interests," Yudhoyono said in the aircraft.
Thus, the president asked all the entourage, after having a rest, immediately do their best for the people and the nation.
President Yudhoyono left Indonesia on November 13 for Washington DC to attend the G-20 Summit and later made working visits to Mexico, Brazil and Peru.
His visits to Mexico and Brazil were of bilateral nature while he visited Peru to attend the 16th summit of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).
The president, during the APEC meeting, among other things said that poverty was a security issue and tackling poverty also meant preventing political instability and safeguarding the common future.
The G-20 is comprised of Argentina, Australia, Brazil,
Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan,
Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain,
Turkey, Britain and the United States
