Shoura Council Chairman holds meetings
Canberra, November 25, SPA -- The Speaker of the House of
Representatives of Australia Harry Jenkins and Senator John Hogg
received at the Australian Parliament here today the Chairman of
Saudi Shoura Council Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah bin Homaid currently
visiting Australia.
During the meeting, the Australian officials hailed the bilateral
relations between the two countries in various fields, particularly
the parliamentary relations.
On his part, Dr. Saleh said that the invitation he received to visit
Australia will contribute to enhancing the relations between the
Shoura Council and the Australian Parliament.
The meeting was attended by a number of Australian Parliament members
and Shoura Council members and Saudi Ambassador to Australia Hassan
Talaat bin Nazir.
Also, the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs received at the
Australian Parliament here today the Chairman of Shoura Council Dr.
Saleh bin Abdullah bin Homaid.
During the meeting, they discussed ways of enhancing bilateral
relations between the two countries.
Dr. Saleh met separately here today Australian Trade Minister Simon
Crean and Minister of Resources and Energy Martin Ferguson.
During the meetings, ways of enhancing bilateral relations between
the two countries in the field of trade, energy and tourism were
discussed.
Also, Dr. Saleh attended here today a luncheon held in his honor by
the Vice Chairman of Australian-Saudi Parliamentary Friendship
Committee Bruce Scott.
The meetings were attended by Saudi Ambassador to Australia Hassan
Talaat bin Nazir and members of the Saudi Shoura Council.
