BCCI organizes joint meeting on GCC non-oil exports

Manama, Apr 9 (BNA) – Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) today hosted a joint meeting with the team work charged with the development strategies of GCC non-oil exports affiliated with the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) and the GCC General Secretariat. The meeting was held in coordination with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and in the presence of Head of BCCI's Industrial Sector Committee, Abdulhameed Abduljabaar Al-Kohaji and BCCI's CEO, Eng. Nabeel Abdulrahman Al-Mahmoud and a number of figures concerned with Bahrain Industrial sector. The meeting reviewed a detailed study on the GCC non-oil export strategy, in addition to a number of successful international experiences in the field of exports, such as leading experiences of South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. BCCI's CEO underlined the development of clear and effective policies for the development of GCC non-oil industrial exports, in light of the encouragements and benefits offered by the Gulf States for the industrial sector, stressing the development of private sector's production and export capacity. The meeting also discussed the current status of non-oil exports, national and regional legislations and policies related to trade and export, supportive role of national institutions for exports in the areas of production, finance, marketing, risk management, logistics trade infrastructure, commitment to international agreement in accordance with the laws of World Trade Organization. The meeting also reviewed the outcome of economic openness policy through calculating the number of foreign investment capitals flowing into the country and bilateral foreign trade volume. MJ
