Saudi-Turkish Joint Economic Committee holds session
Ankara, November 25, SPA -- The Saudi-Turkish Joint Economic
Committee held here today its 9th session.
The Kingdom's delegation was led by Transport Minister Dr. Jubarah
bin Eid Al-Suraiseri while the Turkish side was led by Minister of
Finance Kemal Unakitan.
During the session, the Turkish Finance Minister talked about the
economic problems affecting the world today and their impact on the
developing economies.
He also stressed the increase in the volume of trade exchange between
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Turkey which reached 69 percent.
Saudi Transport Minister delivered a speech in which he stressed the
keenness of the Saudi Transport Ministry to continue its efforts to
push forward the cooperation projects and develop the special
relations between the Kingdom and Turkey.
He said that the relations between the two countries were enhanced
following the successful two visits paid by the Custodian of the Two
Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Turkey in 2006
and 2007.
The two sides discussed a number of issues agreed upon as well as the
existing and signed memoranda of understanding and protocols between
the two countries in various fields.
The opening session was attended by Saudi Ambassador to Turkey
Mohammed bin Raja Al-Husseini and a number of officials and
businessmen in Turkey.
