Somali community in the kingdom condemn Saudi oil tanker's

Riyadh, November 24, SPA -- The Somali community in the Kingdom of
Saudi Arabia condemned the recent flagrant aggression by Somali
pirates when they seized the Saudi oil tanker Sirius Star.

In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, head of the Somali
intellectuals Dr. Abdulraheem bin Haj Yahya said, "We strongly
condemn these terrorist acts and we are specially angry that they
targeted the interests of this country," which he praised and
underlined the strength of Saudi-Somali ties.

He added, "We urgently call for the release of the ship immediately
and with no conditions and the speedy non-governmental and official
efforts for a swift solution."

Dr. Abdulraheem attributed these feelings to the Saudi hospitality
enjoyed by Somalis in the kingdom and called for good reciprocation.

Dr. Abdulraheem described the pirates as very few and an alien
scourge and expressed the Somali people's solidarity with the
kingdom.
