IPI regional office inaugurated in Bahrain

Manama, Apr 5 (BNA) International Peace Institute (IPI) director Terje Rød-Larsen paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his reform initiatives, which preserved the diversity of Bahraini society and promoted its unique development. Addressing a ceremony marking the inauguration of (IPI) regional office, he paid tribute to HM the King, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa for their crucial support. He commended the presence of Minister of State for Information Affairs and Government’s Official Spokesperson Sameera Ibrahim bin Rajab and Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa, pointing out that the inauguration coincides with the Gulf Air Bahrain F1 Grand Prix 2014. He stressed the importance of opening the IPI office in Bahrain, adding that the think tank, which was first established in New York in 1970, had since been trying to impact events in the Middle East. Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa and UN Information for the Arabian Gulf Region director Nejib Friji also addressed the inaugural ceremony. AHN
