Bahraini-Jordanian military cooperation discussed

Manama, Apr. 2. (BNA) – Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met here today, in the presence of the BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces General Meshaal Mohammed Al-Zaban and his accompanying delegation, currently on a visit to Bahrain to attend the 11th Bahraini-Jordanian Joint Committee meeting. The BDF Commander-in-Chief welcomed the visiting delegation, and lauded the solid relations bonding the two countries, strengthened thanks to the directives of their wise leaderships to boost them constantly for their common interests. They reviewed bilateral cooperation and coordination in the military field. Earlier, Gen. Al-Zaban arrived at the BDF General Headquarters where he was welcomed by the Chief of Staff. After the two national anthems were played, Al-Zaban inspected the guard of honour. During the 11th Bahraini-Jordanian Joint Committee meeting, the Chief of Staff delivered a statement in which he welcomed the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces and his accompanying delegation. He praised the advanced level of joint military cooperation and coordination and ways of enhancing them in order to meet the two countries' leaderships in this regard. The Joint Committee discussed issues on its agenda, especially regarding military cooperation. The Chief of Staff hosted at the BDF Officers Club a luncheon in honor of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces and his accompanying delegation. W H Q
