OIC Chief condemns coup attempt in Guinea Bissau
SPA - Jeddah, November 25, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has condemned the coup attempt in Guinea Bissau.
In a press statement issued here yesterday, Ihsanoglu noted with
grave concern and surprise that this violent action comes at a time
when the country has demonstrated its resolve to further entrench
democracy through the conduct of peaceful legislative elections.
While urging for the end of this pattern of destabilization which
has characterized the country's recent past, Ihsanoglu called upon
all citizens of Guinea Bissau to respect constitutional order and
focus on the serious issues of development and progress of their
country.
