PERTAMINA SUPPLIES GAS TO PLTGU MUARA TAWAR

Jakarta, Nov 24 (ANTARA) - State oil and gas company Pertamina currently supplies 30 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD) to the Muara Tawar thermal power plant (PLTGU) in Bekasi, West Java.
"The gas supplies come from the Pondok Tengah field," Pertamina spokesman M Harun said on Tuesday.
Murtaqi Syamsudin, director of state electricity company PT PLN's Java-Bali grids, said Pertamina began supplying gas to the thermal power plant in September.
PLTGU Muara Tawar currently relies on fuel oil to meet much of its fuel needs. It only consumes small quantities of gas supplied by state gas company PT PGN through the South Sumatra-West Java pipeline.
PLN is making an effort to replace fuel oil with gas for the power plant.
