BAKU HOSTS SEMINAR ON EDUCATION

Baku, 24 November,(AzerTAj)A 2-day seminar on the second project to imply overall
development of education in Azerbaijan started at the “Hyatt Regency – Nakhchivan”
hotel in Baku, 24 November.
The project is aimed at enhancing quality of education in schools and augmentation
of cost effectiveness. The second project to encompass 2008-2013 will cost about
$45.4 million. Of this, $25 million account for preferential credit of the
International Development Association and some $20.4 million will go for the share
of Azerbaijan Government.
Respective credit agreement was signed on September 24, 2008.
The seminar featured short speeches from Deputy Premier Elchin Efendiyev, Azerbaijan
Minister for Education Misir Mardanov and the World Bank Director for Azerbaijan
Gregory Ejeychak.
