Khalifa, Zardari hold talks
Abu Dhabi Nov 25, 2008 (WAM) - President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari held talks yesterday at Al Mushrif Palace in Abu Dhabi.
Sheikh Khalifa welcomed the visiting Pakistani President and his accompanying delegation, and expressed the hope that his visit will contribute in furthering relations between the two countries.
The two leaders discussed bilateral ties and ways to enhance them in all field in a way that will open new avenues for mutual cooperation and possible creation of partnership in the different sectors.
They also exchanged views on a number of issues of mutual interest, as well as regional and international developments.
The two leaders stressed the importance of maintaining the achievements made in different spheres. They expressed the hope for world peace, security and stability and that, countries of the world will be able to overcome the current financial crisis.
President Zardari said his country was eager to boost its relations with the UAE which adopts a wise and balanced policy under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
He referred to the economic and developmental progress made by the UAE.
President Zardari also thanked the UAE for the great support given to the Pakistani people in development fields and in humanitarian assistance.
He said the Pakistani people value UAE's great efforts which contributed in alleviating difficulties.
Sheikh Khalifa hosted a luncheon in honour of the Pakistani President and his accompanying delegation. It was attended by Sheikhs, Ministers, and senior officials.
