GAS TUBE EXPLOSION KILLS ONE IN MEDAN
Medan, N Sumatra, Nov 24 (ANTARA) - A gas tube explosion in a tofu home industry on Jermal XIV street in Medan, North Sumatra, killed Risman (23) at 11.40 am local time on Monday.
According to witnesses, the explosion was so loud that it drew many people's attention.
When people came to scene of the explosion , they found Risman dead with his body torn apart by the blast.
Police came to the location to investigate after receiving a report on the incident.
Medan City Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner M Adnan said police had questioned H.Suherman, the tofu home industry owner and Subari, a local witness who had heard the explosion.
Based on the results of their investigation, the police had drawn the preliminary conclusion the explosion was caused by negligence at the workplace.
Risman's body was taken to the Pirngadi General Hospital for an autopsy.
