Arab fishery conference concluded

SANA'A, Nov. 24 (Saba)- Participants in the Arab Conference on Fish
Investment in Arab Countries recommended increasing national
investments in fishery sector and improving food security concept.

The participants affirmed in concluding activities of the
conference, organized by Arab Union for Fish Producers and Arab
Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development (AAAID), in
cooperation wit Yemeni Ministry of Fishery Wealth and General
Investment Authority, on necessity of continuous efforts of the
union and the Arab League on giving needed importance to fishery
wealth in Arab food security.

They called on Arab governments hosting fishery projects for
granting encouraging and catalyzing facilitations, privileges and
insurances for attracting Arab investments in fishery field.

They recommended necessity of supporting increasing the capital of
AAAID for enabling it direct its investments towards fishery sector
for being one of the Arab institutions specialized in food security,
asserting on activating treaty of unifying Arab investment fund
according strategy approved by Arab League.

They called for coordinating efforts for supporting scientific
research for promoting fishery wealth sector within sustainable
development and taking care of quality of fishing and improving it
according international standards as well as providing technical and
financial support to Palestinian fishery sector for developing it
for facing Israeli violations.
