Yemen, IFAD discuss fisheries cooperation

SANA'A, Nov. 24 (Saba)- Minister of Fisheries wealth Mohammed Saleh
Shamlan held a meeting with a responsible person on Yemeni file at
international fund for agricultural development IFAD Amr Dhafar and
representative of the fund in Yemen Fathia Bahran over possibilities
of funding services projects for fishermen in the coastline
governorates.

Shamlan affirmed importance between Yemen and the fund to help in
finding out comprehensive infrastructure for fisheries community,
especially water, electricity, sanitation system, education in order
to improve basic services for them.


For his part, the IFAD official expressed readiness of the
organization to cooperate with Yemen to fund these projects, saying
that the fisheries sector in Yemen would receive further attention
of the fund in coming period.
