Nov 23, 2008 - 01:37 -
WAM Abu Dhabi, Nov. 23rd, 2008 (WAM)--The Centre of Information Affairs in Abu Dhabi has issued a special publication on the occasion of the visit of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the brotherly State of Qatar.

The book tackles the advanced relations between the two countries and the efforts made by President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to elevate these relations to distinguished levels in all fields.

The book indicates that meetings and contacts between President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his brother H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, are an indicative of the depth of the special and distinguished relationship between the two leaders. This, the book says, has strengthened and enhanced the horizons of cooperation and mutual consultations within one family, in the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The book mentions the visits of President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Qatar in 2004, 2005, and 2008 as well as the visits of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar, to the United Arab Emirates in March 2005 and November 2006; visits that further enhanced these relations.

It indicates that the two leaders have managed, with their wisdom and perception, to invest all national resources and potentials to achieve a comprehensive development which stimulates the factors of innovation and creativeness in their countries, which in turn have created a dynamism of internal growth that has taken the relations between the two brotherly countries to new distinguished levels, on all political, economic, and cultural arenas.

The book points out that within this framework came the meeting in Doha in May 2008 between H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and his brother H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, where they discussed the ways of strengthening technological and scientific cooperation between the brotherly countries.

The visit of H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to the brotherly State of Qatar in January 2005 also gave impetus to these relations, says the book, mentioning also other visits H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan paid to Qatar, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations.

It also points out that H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received, on 13 September 2008, H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar.

Another significant visit, says the book, was the visit of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Fujairah Crown Prince, to Qatar on 18 November 2008, where he was received by his brother H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.

The book also touches upon the pioneering march and achievements of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Emir of Qatar who has managed to lead his country down the road of progress and prosperity since his accession to the throne. His era, asserts the book, has ushered in a new age of development and change which involves all aspects in the Qatari society-politically, economically, and socially.

It points out that H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani symbolizes the national effort that led Qatar to progress and development. "the various achievements realized in the brotherly State of Qatar reflect the bright image: H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani has accurately and sensibly planned a course of action that allows the Qatari policy to move forward with firm and quiet steps, and in coherence with the national efforts, in order to achieve progress for the country and prosperity for the citizen," says the book.

It indicates that the State of Qatar is experiencing an historic stage of its march toward progress and rule of law, mentioning the efforts of H.H. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani in launching a pioneering experience in political and economic fields.
