Yemen affirms Iranian drugs traffickers' trial is fair
SANA'A, Nov. 23 (Saba) - Minister of Justice Ghazi al-Aghbari
asserted on Sunday that trial of the Iranians is absolutely fair
regardless their nationalities, according to the Yemeni law.
During his meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Yemen Mahmoud
Hassan Ali, the Minister al-Aghbari emphasized that the Yemeni law
guarantees the right to defend themselves or to retain counsel,
indicating that the Iranian embassy has the right to follow up their
legal status.
The Iranian diplomat voiced its country desire to make judicial
cooperation agreements with Yemen for exchanging expertise and
visits as well as training judges.
The meeting discussed means of improving cooperation relations in
judiciary field between the two countries.
Worth mentioning that about 11 Iranian persons are being tried on
charges of trafficking and possession of drugs.
