Iran to set up geological base in Kabul
Tehran, Nov 23, IRNA
An agreement to set up a base for geology sciences in Kabul was signed
on Saturday by Minister of Industries and Mines Ali Akbar Mehrabian
and his Afghan counterpart.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the signing ceremony,
Mehrabian said that in addition to setting up the base in the country,
Iranian experts will cooperate with their Afghan counterparts in the
field of exploration of minerals and mining.
"Afghanistan has a variety of rich resources, which are considered
among its assets," he said, stressing that they should be used to
develop the country.
For his part, Afghan Minister of Mines Ibrahim Adel declared that Iran
has made good progress in the fields of geology and mining.
He hoped that his country will use Iran's experience in the field.
Adel added that Afghanistan is an independent country and can forge
ties with all countries in the world. It is not under the guardianship
of any country and can sign agreements with regional countries,
including Iran, Adel concluded.
