UN expresses concern over humanitarian situation in Gaza
New York, Nov 23, 2008 (WAM) - Secretary-General of The United Nations Ban Ki-Moon continues to express his concern at the humanitarian situation in Gaza, said today UN Information Centre.
Ban underscored the importance of "having Israel urgently permit the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the civilian population of Gaza, and regrets that his calls have not yet been heeded," it added.
The Secretary-General has been briefed on the humanitarian situation in Gaza by the Humanitarian Coordinator, and supports the statement just released by his office.
