DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS U.S. SPECIAL ENVOY TO OIC

Baku, 22 November,(AzerTAj)Azerbaijan`s Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadigov met Friday with visiting U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Sada Cumber.

The sides discussed U.S-Azerbaijan cooperation within OIC, efforts to increase the
organization`s image throughout the world.
They also stressed OIC`s role in establishing closer relations between U.S and the
Muslim world.
Sada Cumber, in turn, highly appreciated Baku`s hosting international events - “Role
of Media in Development of Tolerance and Mutual Understanding”, “Expanding the Role
of Women in Cross-Cultural Dialogue.”
The sides also praised OIC-adopted documents on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over
Nagorno-Karabakh, and the Organization`s several member countries` support for UN
General Assembly`s resolution on “the situation in the occupied territories of
Azerbaijan.”
During the trip Sada Cumber also delivered a report in the Azerbaijan Diplomatic
Academy.
