Tajikistan`s President Rahman to visit Iran next Wednesday
Dushanbe, Nov 22, IRNA - Iran's Ambassador to Tajikistan Ali Asqar She'rdoust said at a press conference here Friday President Imomali Rahman would arrive in Tehran next Wednesday for an official two-day visit.
According to IRNA correspondent in Dushanbe, She'rdoust added,
"President Rahman would in addition to meeting and conferring with
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have meetings and negotiations with
other top Iranian officials."
He reiterated, "In those meetings the two sides would in addition to
reviewing the bilateral ties and cooperation discuss some regional and
international affairs, including the ongoing global economic crisis,
the developments in Caucasus region, as
well as those in Afghanistan and Central Asia."
She'rdoust said, "Meanwhile, issues related to bilateral cooperation
in the field of energy, particularly execution of small and big dams'
projects in Tajikistan, electricity transfer project from Iran to
Tajikistan and vice versa through Afghanistan would be surveyed during
the Tajik President's visits with Iranian officials." Pointing to the
level of bilateral relations, he said, "This visit, the second visit
of the President of Tajikistan during the course of the current year,
is of great significance from the international relations point of the
view, since the meetings of top officials typically lead to
strengthening excellent friendly relations, that can serve as a model
for the international community." Islamic Republic of Iran's
Ambassador to Dushanbe added, "A number of top Tajik official,
including Tajikistan's ministers of foreign affairs, energy and
industries would be accompanying President Rahman in this visit."
